Slovo License Agreement
This is a translation. In case of discrepancies, the Russian version prevails.
1. About this document
1.1. Slovo for macOS (the "App") is distributed by its author, Artem Pogosian (the "Licensor"), free of charge under an open license pursuant to Article 1286.1 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
1.2. By starting to use the App — installing, launching or copying it — you accept the terms of this agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App and delete it.
2. What you may do
2.1. The Licensor grants you, free of charge, a simple (non-exclusive) license to use the App worldwide for the term of the exclusive right in it.
2.2. You may:
- install the App on any number of your computers and use it for personal, educational and work purposes, including commercial activities;
- share the unmodified App installer with others free of charge, keeping this agreement and the attribution to the Licensor.
2.3. Transcripts, summaries and other texts you produce with the App belong to you. The Licensor claims no rights to them and has no access to them.
3. What you may not do
3.1. Sell or rent the App, or charge for distributing it.
3.2. Modify, decompile or disassemble the App, except as expressly permitted by Article 1280 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
3.3. Remove or alter the attribution to the Licensor, this agreement or the third-party notices, or present the App as your own.
4. Third-party components and models
4.1. The App includes open-source components: WhisperKit (MIT License), portions of swift-transformers (Apache License 2.0) and llama.cpp (MIT License). Their licenses apply alongside this agreement; the full texts are in the "Third-Party Notices" file shipped with the App.
4.2. Neural network models are not included in the installer. At your choice, the App downloads them from Hugging Face: the Whisper speech recognition models (MIT License, OpenAI and Argmax) and the Qwen3-4B language model (Apache License 2.0, Alibaba Cloud). The models are distributed by their authors under those licenses.
5. Your responsibility
5.1. You are responsible for the lawfulness of the recordings you make and transcribe. Before recording a conversation, meeting or lecture, make sure it is permitted by law and by the rules of the place where you record, and obtain the participants' consent where required.
5.2. Transcripts and summaries are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions and inaccuracies. Check anything important against the original recording before relying on it, especially in legal, medical and financial matters.
6. Warranty and liability
6.1. The App is provided "as is". The Licensor does not warrant that it will suit your purposes, work without errors or interruptions, or be compatible with your hardware.
6.2. To the extent permitted by law, the Licensor is not liable for any losses, lost profits, loss of data or other damage arising from the use of or inability to use the App. Keep backups of important recordings.
7. Donations
7.1. The App is free and fully functional without any payment. Donations are voluntary, are not a license fee and create no obligations for the Licensor, including to develop or support the App.
8. Other terms
8.1. The Licensor may change these terms. A new version applies to App releases published after it appears on the App's website; an installed release is governed by the version it shipped with.
8.2. The license terminates if you breach this agreement. In that case, stop using the App and delete it.
8.3. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Russian Federation.
